It feels really good to be appreciated. You see, I have about 5 boss'. Well maybe more but those are the most important ones to me. It is kind of like Office Space, where you have boss upon boss looking down your shoulder at every point of the day. And all of them have a different way of doing things. And you have to answer to all of them...
A few weeks back, a guy in a managemnt position came out to do a reset at one of my stores. While doing so he recieved a phone call from a guy named Bob DiFranco. Who was my old old boss. He moved to the Cleveland plant and overseas the entire plant there. Anyhow, Eric was telling Bob how well all my stores look whenever he comes out and does resets and drops things off. And Bob has heard many good things about me since I took a route. And told me to give him a call if I ever wanted to go Small Format and work for him in Cleveland.
A few days ago I emailed the Sales Secretary, Barb, about getting new business cards made up, because mine were 2 years old and didnt have the correct title on them. So today after our meeting I went down to make sure i filled out the forms right etc... And another lady came in as we were talking to drop something off, and we got off subject and started talking about another sales rep by the name of Chad Kennedy. Everyone jokes about how we're brothers and all that jazz. It's kind of funny.. but none the less, Barb said something along the lines of how she treats me like her son. That made me feel pretty good. She is the nicest lady and always goes abopve and beyond for me. Ever since the days of my old boss Sal, because she was his secretary when he hired me. Anyways, it was nice to hear that.
As I was walking out, Eric stopped me as he was talking to my other 2 big boss' He needed to let me know something about when he was going to drop off a rack to one of my stores. And he turns to my boss Nick and tells him hows hes been into 3 of my stores in the past 2 weeks and said how awesome they look and how well run my route is, and was very impressed with the way things are in my stores. I think it took Nick by shock, because he never really talks to me or they never come out to my stores to see the work i'm doing. Which by the way, i'm not complaining at all, i'd rather not have them come out to my area, because it's just a nightmare when they do. But I am glad that people have a lot of good things to say about me and the work I do.
today's been a good day.
minus me having to go to one of my stores at 5:30 tonight to deal with an annoying manager.
i accomplished a lot at work today, and tonight.
