hello all.

So a quick update. Yes, my father's house is ok, for now. For those of you just tuning in - my father lives literally across the street from the Rice Canyon fire's origination point. he was evacuated, and he and his wife and their dog are in a hotel in the OC safe and sound. we think their house is ok as the firefighters apparently stopped it before it changed directions on that street, but they just won't know till they can get back in to see. He lives on a golf course and the groundskeepers and he spoke and indicated that things look ok for now. Lets hope they contain the fire (15% now) before the wind shifts.

A church in Malibu in which some dear friends were married, was burned... other friends houses are on the wait and see list. I'm relatively sure a house my family used to own, but doesn't any more in Running Springs is gone. And to think it is almost all due to arson (or that's what they say.) I was just in LA before the fires started, rented a convertible and was enjoying the sunshine.. I was even in Malibu Friday night..

strange the way the world turns.. more as I know it - but if any of you lost or have friends who have lost my heart goes to them. Fire is quite instant, unforgiving and there's no do-over button.
