I've never really been into keeping photos of people. In art school I kept shooting inanimate objects, body parts and machinescapes & landscapes. I never shot faces.. and I never keep photo mementos.
Jewelry, random shit, toys and the occasional piece of lingerie as trophy, but never photos...
I think it's because I prefer my hazy blurry memories to reality.
- odd thing is some of my favorite artists are photographers, Danny Clinch, Man Ray, et all.

I'm the same about photos, I always used to prefer landscapes and 'things' rather than faces. I think suicidegirls is changing that though!
