It's like having a dead friend suddenly show up on your doorstep with a smile.
Got a text message today, around lunchtime. At first I didn't recognize the number, but it looked familiar. Simple really. Something like "Call me. I have a question". So I did. She answers. A friend I haven't talked to in a while, and always wonder about. It took my mind a second to realize I was talking to her again. Two more ticks while my heart stops hurting, and the lump clears out of my throat.
I'm not going to go into the particulars of the conversation, as it's not pertinent; nor is our reason for not having talked in so long. But the sheer suprise of it blindsided me completely. Everything still hurts like before, but now the cut's been reopened. However, those of you who know me know I've never been one to shy away from the razor.

I hope it doesn't delve too far into a bad situation. Wouldn't want to hear of anything bad happening to you.
