On my way in for my date with corporate dronery today, I passed a Met Council Mosquito Control Truck, fogging the ditches. The annual battle against the miniature vampires has begun.
Got me to thinking of how frightening it must be for people to visit Minnesota. We leave up our SNOW EMERGENCY ROUTE and WINTER PARKING BAN signs year round. We have a fleet of trucks AND helicopters whose sole mission is to patrol the metropolis dispersing insectiside to thwart the growth of mosquitos. That's funny stuff, if you ask me.
So, no one wanted to trade lives with me for the weekend. I'm hurt. It was a rather attractive offer, I thought. Well, I ended up having a pretty damn good weekend anyhow. Friday, went bar hopping through Roseville, NE Mpls, and St. Paul. Saturday, slept late, bought a couple new shirts (my solution for when I need to do laundry...just buy new stuff), and chilled. Sunday, BHL came home from Michigan early, so we hung out & went and had a fabulous dinner at Forepaugh's.

You sure you don't mean mosquito repellants?
I know what a "bug trap" is. Or one of those curly-smoke-things that are supposed to scare the creeps away.
Or one of those "zap"-things.
But magnets?
Not unless you feed them with metallic shavings first. And, between you and me, t-h-a-t was an afternoon wasted.
