When looking for a place to eat on a busy night, look for a place on fire!
So, BHL calls yesterday afternoon & tells me about this meeting she's been in & how she could use a happy hour. Who am I to refuse?
Meet her out on the Bloomington Strip, all sorts of mediocre corporate food & drink options. Ground Round: closed. Outback: 30 minute wait. WTF? This is Monday night. Ah. Tournament time. All the hotels are full of Outstaters. TGI Fridays: full. By this time, BHL is getting extremely irritated.
As we leave Fridays, we hear a cacaphony of sirens and air horns. A sea of flashing lights bounce off all the surrounding buildings. Chevy's is on fire!
Seeing no smoke, and that the firefighters didn't seem to be in much of a rush, figured it to be a small kitchen fire or something like that. The customers had pretty much cleared out, so we just walked into Chevy's and we got seated right away.
