I love JC Penney's.
I asked to transfer to stock a couple of days ago. Seeing how I never sleep until 10 AM as it is (shift for unloading the trucks is 3-10 AM) it pretty much would have been a great shift for me. The assistant store manager was for it, as was one of the men's managers. However, the other manager for men's department blocked it stating that he needed me for his front and that he promised me more hours for his front.
Please note, he told me he was willing to give me more hours after the fact if I got him more credit card applications. So now, I will still be working in the same department, getting the same shitty hours...and if I get the credit card applications...well, same hours cause that statement was bullshit. Come on, I have been promised more hours how many times if I did this or this? Did they ever come through? No. I don't care if the men's department is understaff. This isn't about me being happier with my job. The only real way that will happen is if/when I get an animation job. This is more on the basis of survival. I want to get rid of my credit card bill. I can't do that if I only make the minium payments. I can't survive with only 20 hours a week. I need full time hours.
And to make things better, I got a 50 cent raise yesterday. Problem is that I should have gotten the 25 cent raise back in November, but that didn't happen. The other 25 cents was because the store raised the minium hire rate to $7 instead of $6.75. So that was going to happen anyways. I just love that I finally get the raise I was supposed to get about 4 months after I was supposed to get it when I ask to leave the department.
Fuck that place. Seriously, I should have quit a long time but didn't because it was the only real money maker for me. And I even use that term lightly. I only earned $328 from them this month. My bills are $320.
That place has been taken advantage for to too long. First chance I take, am out of there.
My parents always said the other part time job at Gamestop takes advantage of me. At least I understand their hour situation. JC Penney's can just go to hell.
