You know what pisses me off? That the Canadian EI (Employment Insurance... it should really be called UNemployment Insurance) is a crock of shit and isn't all that helpful. I just called today to find out why I haven't been paid anything, and they said they have to deduct the wages I made during the "waiting period" of however long it is, and that there's still another $40 to deduct, and then maybe I'll get some money, assuming that I'm not making too much money by working part time.
So EI, suck my metaphorical dick. Canada sucks where government programs are concerned.
It also pisses me off that AT my part time job (where I used to work basically full-time, or about 34 hours a week), I've been with the company for almost 4 years. I stopped working at one store, and I still work at the the other store (since February 2008). Still though, I've been there a long time in general. It just pisses me off that the girl who was hired at the store I've worked at since February was only hired in December 2007 (if I understand correctly), is a slacker and slow worker, but wants to work 30 hours a week to get on the benefits program. Yet I'm a hard worker, I get shit done, and I can't get more hours for some reason. How fucked up is that?
I dunno if there's something I'm missing in that equation, but I have half a mind to call up my manager/the owner and see how exactly that works. Ugh.
Fuck this. This fucking sucks. Life goes from being fucking great to really lame. My boyfriend wants to slow things down, I can't find a new job, my current job is shafting me, and I'm running out of money. Fuck.
