hi all! haven't been ignoring, internet access was down... strange to-do.
actually, my internet service was fine, my phone was shut off and it took a month or two to get it turned back on!
get this:
i always pay ahead so that i won't have to go to the payment spot as often, been doing it for years on phone, electric, etc.
with deutsch telekom every time i get a bill where i actually owe money, i pay 200-250euro on it (about 3-4 months worth).
i got a bill for about 45euro. a couple days later my internet stopped connecting. this didn't surprise me as the internet goes down every now and then, sometimes it just needs a day or two before things are fixed or i need to call to get something done. so i went the next day and paid my phone bill, 200euros on that 45euro bill.
week later, still no internet. i checked the phone as the error message kept saying that the other computer wasn't answering....
well, long story short, i paid 200euros on a 45euro bill, they shut off my phone, during several cell phone conversations they kept telling my husband (who was happily back for a mid-deployment visit) that they'd have it turned back on in 2 days (each time), and eventually i recieved a check in the mail for about 50euros (my original deposit on the phone service) and had to restart my phone service from scratch.
no word on the 150euros that i forward paid past what i owed PLUS a startup charge of 160euros for the "new" service.
but i'm back online now and with the "new" phone service i can actually call out on the landline (something that unexplainably stopped over 10mths ago and never returned til this reactivation).
bleh.
but, on the upswing, my husband got to come back for an extended mid-deployment leave as he was used to help setup operations here for those that were redeploying home since he was here already. that was nice
