so i'm getting antsy about my hike. i re-packed today to see abut weigh distribution and whatnot.. with the new sleeping pad things are working out better. that took a near pound or so off and greatly changed the way i pack due to the size difference. i was able to actually pack more food weight but still feel like i was lifting less.
i'm debating getting a different pack at the end of the month, an external frame. they're lighter and breath better, plus -unlike my old internal i'm using- the ones i'm looking at are built for water resevoirs. i really prefer camelbak pouches to bottles and currently am having to make a jury-rigged setup for attachment.
we'll see come the end of month.
M is likely going to hike the southern approach trail with me and camp at the top of it, then i'll go on from there alone.
the first few days are going to be HARD. but the body will adjust, it always does.
i'm looking forward to it and am nervous at the same time. eep and woohoo.
