So the root canal itself wasn't so bad. 5 shots, didn't feel a thing. Didn't even bothered me when I could smell (and see) the smoke of my poor, helpless, decimated tooth getting drilled into oblivion.
Thumping my chest, I left feeling manly and unaffected by the procedure. Lo those who doubted my fortitude withstanding the needle. I felt saucy. Except for my lower lip. It felt like it weighed 10 pounds.
However, today is another story.
Anyone ever had braces? Remember that feeling when they got tightened? All the teeth around the victim are sore like that. Like I got punched in the jaw.
Today I've had to preface every conversation with, "I had a root canal. I'm really not making faces at you." Except for my boss, to whom I always make faces as if my body was slowly decaying away with every word that passes his lips.
I'm also convinced one side of my neck is going to get more muscular as I have to hold my head sideways when I chew to make doubly sure that food doesn't get over to the dark side of my mouth. I'll have an uber-buffed SCM. Just one side. Maybe a root canal is how Harvey Dent got started.
