Long story, but I moved to Virginia from Colorado almost a year ago. I remember when a year was a long time, but then I also remember doing a lot of shit in a year. I moved out here to help Mom and Sister start a restaurant in So, VA Beach. I had worked in electronics for 15yrs (semiconductors....wore the head to toe cleanroom suits, we call them bunnysuits....spent most of those years staring through a microscope) but thanks to American companies sending all the computer hardware related jobs overseas, I was having to move once again, and the phone call from family asking if I would come out to VA and help came at the right (wrong) time?
My two choices were California (again) or Oregon/Washington if I wanted to remain in the biz, but honestly, although I miss the money, it has given me time to think, and dream. My goal has always been to work from home.....always thought I could do it......just never saw the need.
Well....I see the fucking need now.
I love the Fam and all, but there WAS a reason I always lived at least two states away. If our family ever had a blacksheep, it sure the fuck was me. As they say, you can pick your friends, but you can't pick your family. I think absence not only makes the heart fonder, but it allows you to see people for their true selves.....bums me out that some people go through life not learning at least ONE life lesson.....you know the ones....the ones that leave you hollow for a long time...the ones that promote new thinking processes.....you know?
After peddling the legal drug behind the bar since I moved here, I'm quite ready to drop the mixer and pick up the little sweeper-receptacle unit and walk around the theater.
That's it.....

Guess I'll update this. I've since moved from Virginia to Austin Texas, then after four years, moved to Lake Forest California, and after a few years, moved to the DFW area of Texas. Now you're all caught-up. Let's hope they stop selling of technical jobs overseas and this country gets better soon, or we won't do too well in the next fifty years.
