I haven't posted on here for a very long time. 2 Years ago my mom fell and snapped her arm bone in half just below her right shoulder.Several months before this she started feeling some odd pain in that shoulder. She was constantly telling me that it was her belief that it was cancer. My mom is a hypochondriac and is always facing some new illness. Her doctors did a whole bunch of tests on her and even drilled a core sample of marrow to test. They found nothing and told her it was probably a little arthritis. So she breaks her arm and they keep her drugged up for three days and wont set her bone for that three days while they test her exposed marrow. So a few weeks goes by and she gets well enough to go home but they have yet to tell her if they found anything. She gets a call to meet with a cancer doctor and i go with her. My mom tells me that this is the lady who tested her and told her there was no cancer in her shoulder before she fell and broke her arm. So we meet with this doctor. A very severe woman with absolutely no bedside manner. She tells my mom it's stage 4 breast cancer in the bones in her arm. It had eaten enough of her arm to weaken it and make it so easy to break. So the cancer was always there they just missed it. And the only reason they are calling it stage 4 is because it had migrated. The strange thing was that she had had stage 1 breast cancer that she had beat, and they said that they had never heard of something like this happening before so it took them by surprise. My mom was very upset. How do you miss that much cancer in a scan. She asked for all her medical info. All her scans they did and tests. She wanted to go somewhere else and get a second opinion. They were very rude to her but did as she asked. I went with her to this new cancer hospital. The first thing their head doctor told her was that he could not believe they missed the cancer on the scans, he could see it clearly. This new hospital has been good for her and she's been getting these spinal injections once a month to fight the bone cancer. So far its been working.
So if you believe your doctors are not listening to you or ignoring you or just doing a shitty job. Please find another doctor or get another opinion.
