re: pursuing the almighty dollar-- don't. the money doesn't bring enough good stuff to your life to make it worth missing out on happiness or love.

if you truly think you are with the wrong person, or that your relationship has nowhere else to grow to, then you'd both be better off separating. but, if you are just going through that mid-life doubting phase, then you should make a real effort to see if there actually is a problem with your marriage.

not to get preachy on you, but have you tried counseling? if it doesn't help you both to make things better, then it will at least make you feel ok about letting it go. then, no regrets.

feel free. if i can offer anything else, i'll try and do so. i'm just figuring this shit out as i go along. but overall, i have really come to be glad we are divorcing. it's weird, cuz i would've spent the rest of my life with him, yet, spending this last little while apart, it seems so unlikely that we would have ever been a couple in the first place.
