I've been going to Hot or Not and giving high marks to the less than beautiful girls and average marks to the girls that look like they are so "hot".

The John McCain interview on the Daily Show last night really had me thinking. Before I went to Iraq, I had romantic thoughts about what the United States was trying to accomplish. The building of schools, the Iraqi elections, Saddam being removed from power, they all seemed like worthy causes. After huddling against a wall in my office and counting 16 mortars come in, I'd had enough.

My grandfather made a good point, if HUNDREDS of years of Crusades could not change the ways of this part of the world, what makes us think we can do any better. The people in this part of the world are fighting us with blind, doubtless faith.

The Iraq war is like the Emporer's New Clothes. Even Republicans (Senators and the like) think the war is stupid, but none would dare say so in front of G.W. Seriously, what the fuck? How did that retard get re-elected?

Back to the McCain interview. He does not speak for me. I do not agree with what the US is doing there. I am not happy about the 15 month deployments. I am fully certain that an "overwhelming majority" of the soldiers I have served with do not think the Iraq mission is a "worthwhile cause".
