That's right...say it...Dolly Parton! My sister made a comment a few weeks ago while watching the movie 9 to 5 that she thought Dolly Parton was great. Her husband, thinking that she was a big fan, surprised her with an early birthday present- tickets to Ms. Parton's show on the October 30th.
She asked me to go with her!!!! I am so excited. Nope, not really a fan but the more I think about it...I mean REALLY...what better show can you see the night before Halloween?!?!?!? This woman is halloween every day of her life. Take THAT Marilyn Manson...Dolly is OLD SCHOOL!!!
And without her...there would be nobody to write the song that propelled Whitney Houston to diva status- "I Will Always Love You" And without holding that diva scepter...she might never have married Bobby Brown...and we might not have had "Being Bobby Brown" on MTV!
Dolly Parton is a god-dammed cultural icon and someone we should all aspire to! I've seen Iggy Pop in London but somehow Dolly Parton in Milwaukee seems so...luxurious!

So tell me...have YOU ever been to a music event that you never thought you would go to but ended up having a great time?????? Ah hell....just tell me a great music event story while I decide if I should pop for white wig and get dressed up in my finest sequenced cowgirl outfit for the show....

It's a shame though that Dolly's homecollege Tennessee lost to my college's team on Saturday, at least her gazongas still look happy about life.
