When we moved into our current place back in April, it happened after the near eviction of the former tenant. A possible prostitute/drug dealer who left the place in shambles for us to pick up after and fix. C was pretty pissed about the whole house, and it's taken many months to get rooms painted, and fixtures fixed to get her to be moderately happy. All in all we've been trying to change the whole spirit of the house since the last people to live here left us with some pretty bad shit.
Solution: Karma Party!!
I think it was one of the girls in C's belly dancing troupe who suggested it, basically a party to bring in happy vibes to both the house and everyone in attendance.
Took some doing to get everything ready but we pulled it off last Saturday and what an INCREDIBLE night! We started early @ 6:30 and people showed up right on time! Kinda sucked since we were both naked in the bathroom getting ready when people started piling in. Aw well, we told everyone to wear their favorite outfit, people just figured towels were ours
About an hour or so into it, most of the women from C's dance troupe started belly dancing in our backyard. We got some music going at first, but eventually just left it to the drummers who just pounding away to a good beat. After about an hour of dancing it got to too dark for them to dance, so we switched up to Poi. This is where I got to cut loose for quite awhile. I kept getting new requests as people kept showing up. I of course want to put on a good show and spin extra hard which wears out my shoulders quickly, but it's REALLY hard to stop when people are enjoying your performance, you get all this great energy from the watchers.
Ended pretty abruptly at midnight which is alright. I think most of the party goers exhausted themselves and C and I were no exception.
