I am a psychology major and even I see the psychological damage social media like Facebook does to me. It is like an addiction. I originally started using it to stay in touch with old NOLA friends after Hurricane Katrina separated us all. Now I see people saying horrible shit and I want to strangle them but I can't. If you use social media it is usually not enough to cut toxic people from your life because you usually are poisoned by "friends" of people who aren't toxic but their friends are - usually people who have 3000+ "friends." I basically unfriended every single person who pissed me off on Facebook but I still can't avoid the douchebags they are friends with. If I can remember to just not pipe in with my unwanted opinion when someone says something retarded I can usually maintain some semblance of sanity but I have to remain constantly vigilant.

It seems slightly disingenuous to not acknowledge that it is at least partially for attention. If it is being photographed or being naked that makes you feel empowered and confident you can still have them taken, posting the photographs would not enter into it. You are an aspiring model after all, what is a model without attention?
