DAY AFTER DAY WE DISCOVER OUR OWN LIVES. BECAUSE WE NEVER KNOW WHAT WE WILL FIND. EVERY DISCOVERY IS AN UNEXPECTED GIFT WE GIVE OURSELVES.

BARBARA J. EXBENSEN
AMERICAN POET

Today, I stepped off the edge.
It is both scary and thrilling.

I hope the wind lifts me up and allows me to soar.

Memorial Day Weekend

I spent the last three days reading Harry Potter Books and watching the Tour of Italy bike race.

Made Roasted Chicken with a Red Curry Sauce and rice for dinner tonight. God it was hot. Had a very ripe yellow pineapple for dessert.

My son called around 7pm and asked if he could stay at his mom's house tonight. I said; ok...

Yeah, I'm fine. It's like this ... I have two jobs. And I had an extra side job this weekend. And my boyfriend comes home on the weekends. So I'm lurking around ... just don't have time/energy to do a journal. I have about 3 more hours of work tonight and it's not working out very well. I think I'm gonna take a nap and hope I can get up again in an hour or so.

Geez, there is just no rest for the weary! biggrin

I dunno ... success is a little over rated (not that I would actually know) but dreams are pretty cool. I mean, what doesn't kill you, ummm, doesn't kill you. smile

I need to jump.
I need to take a leap of faith.
I have been sitting on the side of this bridge for months watching the water flow by me.
I've been wondering if this indecision is more than that.

FLY LIKE THE WIND.

thankyou. you too. smile

FREIDA!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have been playing the cd all day. What PASSION!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Lila Downs has such an amazing voice. I have been shedding tears listening too it. It reminds me of a lost love. Hearing it feels like I am there agian with her. I use to listen to the cd sitting in the airport waiting for my fight to leave for the states. I would...

I am in awe of some people's writing abilties on this site. My father could write like that. He wrote beautiful poetry. I didn't get any of his writing skills.

Today, I got up and did things around the house. I made a list yesterday and almost got it all done. I finished the laundry and paid bills. Then I took Jonathan's things back to...

I want a tattoo!
suzy_kabloozy:
Hahahaha! The bathroom. Well, they built an enclosure around the washer/dryer and they put up shelves and it would all be very promising except ... they switched the hot and cold water hoses on the washer. It will be HARD to pull that thing out. And they better do it tonight. If this were a movie, it would be hilarious. Even as my life, I must say ... it will be fodder for many a joke for years to come, I'm sure. wink

I don't really have money for a tattoo. I got one a few months ago. I get one in August, from Mark Mahoney, as a birthday present. I guess I'm impatient.

Wow, your daughter and my son have the same skill set! Who would have thought?

Well, they put up two pieces of plywood today. My son said they were in here for 8 hours. My son "supervised" by lying in my bed, with the air conditioner on, watching TV. He did help the little one with his homework when we got home, though. He's invaluable with his support for his little brother. He didn't like him at first, being usurped of the baby role just before he turned 17, but they have grown on each other over the years. Still, it's ridiculous when he starts his "Mama, Daron is bothering me" stuff. Daron = 6 years old and small for his age. Steve = 6'3" and 250 pounds.

So riddle me this: Teaching your kids to talk ... over-rated? biggrin

Saw StarWars yesterday with my son. I thought it was really good. 2 hours flew by and the movie was over before you knew it. Jonathan loved r2d2 he couldn't stop talking about him. It amazed me that out of the whole movie he picked the little guy zapping a robot as the coolest part.

Then, after the movie, Jonathan decided he wanted McD's agian....

Well, I'm sure fine dining is great and all. I mean, I know it is ... I have fairly cultured tastes from time to time. Still, I'm really just po' white trash, and it's all the same to me whether we go someplace nice or Jack In The Box. I'm not sure that being high maintenance is such a good trait. I mean, choose your fights, you know?

So did you make it to the bar? smile

saw your first tattoo in the tattoo group- its fucking gorgeous!! i hope you're pleased with it- it looks great! blush

Hi,

I tried getting on last night and it wouldn't connect to SG. I could go anywhere else but not this site.

So, my son and his mom come over yesterday. They pull up and get out of the van. I figure Lucy, my bullmastiff, would like to run out and greet Jonathan. So, I let her out. I didn't see my ex's male standard...

I second suzy_kabloozy entry above.

Though as a recent joiner in going to bars alone set- with some thoughts of actually talking to people besides drinking alone and re-reading the bar menu for hours, i join you in the how the fuck do I do this thought?

I'm having withdrawal pains. It's been a month since I got my tattoo. I am waiting for her drawings on the next tattoo. I told her I wanted a japanese style half body suit. It's going to be half above water and half below. I figure 40 hours under the needle to complete it. I just want to see something. So, I have an idea...

Wow, I wish some of my bills would go away like that. Actually, I cannot say that it has never happened. I have lived a very charmed, Forrest Gump type life. Only difference is ... sometimes I wasn't dumb enough to just enjoy it for what it was worth.

So yeah, I'm getting settled. My shower is now assembled ... still WRONG ... and the washer/dryer is in it's final resting spot. Now if I just had bathroom walls!

I just realized that I have to make an appointment with Mark Mahoney if I want to be able to get a tattoo for my birthday in August. I'm getting Bettie Paige. Can't decide if she'll be on my arm so I can see her, too, or if she'll be on my back for the enjoyment of my, ummm, riders. biggrin Tattoos are addictive, aren't they? Maybe I should get one to commemorate the move.
suzy_kabloozy:
Yes, dear, I did read your ramblings and I just went back and made sure I had seen everything.

How old is your son, btw? My 6 year old was touching himself in the LIVING ROOM the other night. He was trying to show his big brother what happens when he does this ... and my 23 year old was HORRIFIED because he was sitting there with a little boner and quite amused with himself. I rescued Steve and told Daron that it was private and inappropriate to do that in front of people. He laughed at me. I'm sure he could care less about girls or magazines yet, but he sure seems amused by his equipment. They grow up so fast.

Do you think this happened because I gave him his own remote control? biggrin
