1st off it's my 3rd day in a row tonight. I have one more to go. Really sucks to work 4 days in a row. Silver linning though is I am off thursday, friday & saturday. So it's all good. I have plans to go out & party saturday. I'm really looking forward to it too.
The past few shifts at work have been tiring. Had a guy who had a real bad head bleed. It was so bad that his pupils wouldn't react to any light. That's pretty bad. Don't know what happened to him. If he did make it though. Chances are he'll end up being a vegetable. Sad. I've come to the conclusion that if anything serious ever happens to me. I don't want to be resuscitated. I would hate to live on a breathing machine for the rest of my life. The care someone like that gets is not great. If you can't move, you develope infections & bed sores. It really is horrible to see sometimes.
On another story we ended up picking up a little kid that tested positive with cocaine. 2 year old baby boy. Baby boy was ok though. How does a 2 yr old get ahold of something like that?
It's sad to see how some parents really don't give a shit about their kids. If you get high & it's affecting your life. Get your tubes tied or get snipped. There is absolutely no reason a person like that should procreate. All you're doing is more damage to these kids than good. They'll either end up in foster homes fucked up. Or caught up in the wrong life. They're screwed before they even get a chance to better themselves. Bit of a rant there.
Sunday was the St. Patrick's south side parade. I didn't make it there. Meet up with some friends at a bar for a few hours before heading to work. Had a good time. Bumped into a guy that used to work where I work at. Sucked that it ended up raining most of the night though. It was a good night at work though. Wasn't really busy at all. So we got some good down time.
Had a paramedic student with me last night. My 1st student I am training. Mmuuuaaahhh!!!
Actually I'm pretty laid back. I won't bust their balls just because I can. It's a learning process & they need to recognize when to get their ass's moving. A hard ass won't make you feel comfortable enough to ask questions if you have any. All you'll do is shut down & hope time passes faster. So we'll see if he comes back for some more ride time.
