Been awhile since I posted. Work and life in general have been busy.
I went to see Sam Roberts when I got back from Vancouver and he was absolutely incredible. We saw him at a really small venue in San Francisco called Cafe du Nord. I was able to get some decent video.
Green Day started playing a couple smaller shows in the Bay Area. We went to see them at the Fox Theatre in Oakland. While not small, it certainly was smaller than their typical 20000 seat stadium shows. They played through their entire new album and then came back on to play about 15 of their older songs. It was a pretty cool to hear the album before it was released.
My friends and I hade run a home poker league on Wednesdays for the last 24 weeks. We had the top 9 players play in our Tournament of Champions to end the season. Did a BBQ and stuff and had a good time. We will start the next season in June sometime.
My Parents came to visit us in May. We had friends over for a dinner party with them their first night in town. Then we took them to Napa and on the way back we met up with my wifes family for dinner so they could meet. We have been married almost 5 years and the opportunity had just never come up. We took them to wineries in Livermore on the Sunday and then I took them to San Francisco to see the Pier and Muir woods on the Monday before they left. It made for a very busy weekend.
The Thursday after they left, we went to see Kings of Leon in SF. It was my first time seeing them play. They put on a good show. Their song Closer is one of my Favourite songs right now.
Tonight I think I'm going to go play some cards at one of the local card rooms as my wife is at a birthday party for her sister. It's been a couple weeks since i've played and I have the itch.
We have tickets to the Tragically Hips 2 shows at the Fillmore in SF later this month and tickets to Death Cab for Cutie in early July.
