It took three years to sift through the garbage that is food offered at u of o... but finally I've found something I consider food: organic granola bars! Not a sulphite or a modified milk ingredient in sight.

It amazes me, that after three years of comp sci, to see my some of my classmates trying to use procedural programming in Java. Which doesn't work very well at all. Good job, school, way to teach us to actually apply stuff! frown Makes me really glad I'm doing co-ops..

Ive been roller blading a lot lately. I most deffinitly need new ones, that actually fit. (Preferrably with the removable wheels... I know I saw an online store selling them at one point..)

I gave up the whole mostly raw food thang. It was fun, and I ate lots of tasty food, and I felt great.. for awhile. But it seems to have caught up with me. After doing a little research, I pretty much narrowed it down to two possible reasons: first, as much as my research disagrees, I think I have a hard time digesting raw grains and tubers. They make the tummy feel strange. Second, with raw grains and tubers being unappealing due to issue one, and cooked being avoided, I was eating tons of nuts and seeds. From what I've read, I was deffinitly getting way too much fat, which can screw up your energy and concentration. Sounds about right. Plus the fact that lots of fat seems to have added fat to me, which is aesthetically fine, but physically makes me feel like a big ol' slug who wants to sleep all day. So, after only a week back in my tried and tested normal eating habits (raw/cooked veggies, fruits, cooked grains and beans and tubers, nuts in sane amounts), I already feel much better. I will miss you, tasty but painful raw sweet potato!

A ton of work to do today.. but after that comes the WEEKEND! Being busy makes me appreciate time off so much... where's the party and the tequila! wink

Wow, that was a bunch of random paragraphs wink

hi! smile

raw food veg is a strange road. i found the hardest part to be the cultural isolation, even from a pretty rarified fringe community. granted, it was 1990 in a small town and "vegetarian" was freakish, let alone vegan, let alone raw food...

there is a great place in France you should check out some time. It is called "Chateau de Montrame" and they practice "instinctotherapie" - instinctive eating. all food must be raw, no grains or dairy, but meat and eggs are on. As raw foodists, we were in and ate well from the "crusine." but as vegans, we were outside yet again.

wild place, tho... 12th century castle about an hour's drive from paris with some incredible people doing off-the-chart things. stories, stories. you know, i don't even know if they still exist...
