E3 Report:

On day 3, I saw Martin Leung playing piano live. He's that guy who is hammering out Super Mario theme tunes on the piano, on those lil internet movies people like to swap.

There's alot more news for me from E3, but nothing I can share publicly. Of course, that's the juiciest kind...so wish me luck! *purposefully ambiguous* smile

I went to the DVD store today, Tower Records of Pasadena, to look for Chapelle's Show Season 2. I was eating at the Soup Plantation across the street 'cuz I was feeling rotten from eating a pizza for dinner the night before.

I found out it comes out this Tuesday. I'm only there for this one thing...but naturally I walk out with ANOTHER arm-load of DVDs. The good news, as always, is that I have excellent taste in movies so the DVDs ought to be good, hehe.

Kinsey - Special Edition
Malena
Open Your Eyes (Abre Los Ojos)
The Sea Inside (Mar Adentro)
Hoop Dreams - Criterion
Red (Trois Coleurs - Rouge)
Bloodsport

Ironically, Bloodsport is the one that has taken the most effort to locate. It paid off with a $7.99 price tag for a brand new disc.

On the topic of movies, I've been plowing through my new DVDs. It keeps me away from WoW, which is a good thing considering how much time I'm playing it. If you own DVDs, one of the best things to do is when you bring home take-out dinner, pop in the Disc 2 of some movie you love while you watch it. The timing of the short documentaries is perfect for the duration of a meal, and you can stop anytime. I was watching the special features for Conan The Barbarian and The Shawshank Redemption the last couple days. So good.

Some hopeless person on the Movie group was trying to again make the point that The Shawshank Redemption isn't a great movie. I agree, it's not just a great movie...the only worthy debate for this movie's magnitude of merit is whether it is the GREATEST or just "one of the greatest". wink
