Day 1 at E3:

Saw the Chronicles Of Narnia game, it looks bad and will probably be based on the movie. They had alot of props from the movie and alot of the monsters have new, made-up characters, which i don't like. But it's nice to see people having a new interest in Narnia again.

They had a demo of Super Gunstar Heroes in Japanese...

I didn't see the SG booth, that may be a good thing 'cuz the rumor is that there is at least one person I dislike working it.

Didn't see Scopitone, I gotta find him tomorrow.

Dropped by Blizzard's booth for WoW. People were playing on the Battle Grounds on the test server. I tried to get on using their character and it crashed! Oh the irony...the people behind me laughed aloud. Also, they were giving out flyers offering GM opportunities. We will see...

I stopped by Wizards Of The Coast booth. MTGO was present, with screenshots of 3.0. Totally new interface... Looks like I will have a very strong and positive reference from an important person in the company if I try to work for them. I want to write articles for MTGO and I believe I can be very good for the community! biggrin

I saw some GuildWars stuff; wasn't too impressed by it. Lately alot of people have been leaving WoW to go play it. I've even been recruited by many old UO people to play it. I know a dog when I smell one...

I saw this great Swedish movie yesterday, Fanny & Alexander (Fanny Och Alexandre). Ironically at lunch today, two young Swedish guys grilled me on WoW and US video games in general. We exchanged cards...sadly all the info on my card is no good lol.

Tomorrow I will go see Star Wars at the Arclight; my pal NakedEye got me a free ticket. He's that crazy-elite photographer friend of mine. ...the one who shot for Penthouse many times and even had a Pet Of The Year (Sunny Leone). Then later I will go back to E3 and check out the rest of the show.

Miss you guys! In the meantime, here are a bunch of movies you should not miss, despite the foreign language barrier:
These all are available in the US, mostly Criterion but not all, with English subs. wink

Seven Samurai (Shichinin No Samurai (1954)) - Japan/in Japanese ...and any other number of Akira Kurosawa films
City Of God (Cidade De Deus (2002)) - Brazil/in Portugese
Amelie (Fabuleux destin d'Amlie Poulain, Le (2001)) - France/in French
A Beautiful Life (La Vita E Bella (1997)) - Italy/in Italian
Cinema Paradiso, New Version (Nuovo Cinema Paradiso (1989)) - Spain/in Spanish
Amores Perros (2000)- Mexico/in Spanish
Run Lola Run (Lola rennt (1998)) - FRG, Germany/in German
Fanny & Alexander (Fanny och Alexander (1982)) - Sweden/in Swedish
Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels (1998) - UK/in English
The Motorcycle Diaries (Diarios de motocicleta (2004)) - in Spanish

I didn't list any John Woo stuff or other Chinese productions like Hero and Crouching Tiger since most people have seen or heard of them.
These movies are SOOOOO good, that most viewers can enjoy them despite being in a foreign language.

I still have to watch "Talk To Her", a Spanish film, when I get the chance and I also have a couple other foreign films on the radar.

I've seen most of those films you recommended, but not Fanny and Alexander yet, it's one of those on my "been meaning to watch list."

That sounds like a good time.

"Talk to Her" is a great film. All of Almodovar's films are pretty great. He's certainly one of my favorite foreign directors.
