I keep getting interesting ideas to update my journal with and I keep getting home too tired from working to do so.

But I'm overdue.

Today I read on yahoo.com about some people who are questioning the government about why the soldiers in Iraq are dying from chest wounds that possibly could have been prevented by more body armor. After reviewing various studies on the lethal wounds, bullet and shrapnel trajectories, autopsies and all sorts of other tedious data, unpleasant data, they are asking to see if maybe we should provide more and/or better armor for them.

It must be a pain in the ass to look at these types of studies on top of 'experiencing' all the damn red tape of petitioning the government. The article didn't name any of these persons, only the guy it did name was from the military who responded that they cannot discuss the tactical aspects of any of their gear in public, which is totally understandable.

After reading the article, I wish I could take all those nameless and thankless people out to dinner...the expensive, $50 to $100 a person kind of dinner, to thank them myself. They must have an easy time answering the question I always ask myself: "What positive impact have I made today? "

On a lighter note, my cousin, the one I mentioned in a previous journal, is getting married this weekend. I hate weddings and I totally don't believe in marriage in it's modern day form. But I feel compelled to go. For laughs, I didn't buy them a gift from their registry. Instead, I bought them some romantic couples DVDs of some Ror-approved movies. biggrin

Speaking of DVDs, I just picked up Miami Vice Season 2 and Broken Flowers. I must remember to hit Best Buy again soon. Can you believe they no longer carry Cinema Paradiso? On second thought, maybe I should shop somewhere else other than BB.

On a happy note, I've been asked for yet another article for the magazine I've written for in the past. Also, on December 5th, I had a major article published on a huge website. That was a blast. smile

Anyway, as for normal life, work has been bustin' my ass. Long hours. But the nice thing is, even though I've only worked there a month, they gave me a Christmas Bonus anyway. $1000. Not bad for only one month. I bought alot of junk with that cash. Unfortunately, the government took 40% of it. mad

I just finished Watchmen.

I'm not sure if I really liked it. I did think it was a work of absolute genius though.

It will be really hard to read a book like Astro City after that...at least for a while.

So are you Rorschach because you see everything in Black and White?
