I lost my grandfather a few years ago on christmas eve , and things just are not as much fun as they used to be before that year . I dont mind the gift giving part , I hate recieving gifts as I normally buy the things I want anyways . And You can never drink enough to make that dreary holiday feeling or family memories go away , and I am so sick of little old ladies pinching my cheek and commenting on how much I have grown and then calling me the wrong name .... my moms side doesnt drink. AT ALL. i could totally drink all of them under the table i bet, kinda sad... ive never seen any of them have more than one glass of wine.
my dads side is a different story - they are the typical family that doesnt get along, so IF they can all get together for a day, it ends up with all of them getting drunk becuase they are all alocholics, and getting into a huge family fight. it never ends well.
i guess you can never have a PERFECT family... right? one side has gotta be messed up in some way. ide like to meet someone who hasnt got that, and shake ther hand.
