did you know you could get pulled over for going the speed limit?
well.. if you dont - please do, cause it happened to me tonight.
cop: do you know why i pulled you over?
me: i honestly have no idea.
cop: well, due to the lateness, its odd to see people going the speed limit. unless they are drunk or have drugs on them - and because you wern't swerving, and i know that you dont do drugs because i remember you were the one who tried to put on a straightedge punk concert in town.. it cant be either. so im going to have to let you go with a warning.
me: for going the speed limit?
cop: yeah... but just a warning..
me: is it possible for giving a ticket to someone going the speedlimit and abiding law?
cop: well, yeah.. i guess.. but ive never heard of it..
me: ::odd look:: uh...ok...
cop: well, anyway have a nice night. - oh - i ran your plates, and it came up with a 98 Jetta.. you may want to call the DMV and see when this car will be in the system for no future problems.
me: thanks... have a good night...
now.. being that was our entire conversation... he did not once ask me if that was my car [edit: he didnt ask for my licence or regristration] or anything - so if in fact; i did steal that car, i would have gotten away with it.
how nuts is that?
all i could do was laugh and light a cigarette.
i wonder about the cops in this town sometimes.
and if i ever get angry at them - i just think about when i ran over a cop hat in the middle of the road, and i kept it, cause it got stuck under my car. and laugh.
