since nobody reads this, i figure i can write anything here. i witnessed a rather sad and disturbing situation occur here on SG in the past 24 hours or so. a support group let down an individual who was new and who was asking if anyone had some similar experiences. i always have thought that "support" means just that, but learned differently. each person is entitled to his/her own opinions about any manner of things. but these are opinions and should not be construed or offered as dogma. it must be very frightening to open oneself up and be more than a tad bit vulnerable and then be everything short of totally attacked. i expect more of people in genreral and in a support group in particular. the internet is a free and open (for many countries) forum for communication. i have always expected that people use common sense and taste in sensitive sites and forums. as the years have gone by, however, this seems very often to not be the case. there are sites where one expects flames and the like, even here on SG. there are some where the intelligence of the participants precludes anything but that sort of behavior. i sense that people feel safe behind their keyboards and monitors from actual retaliation and that in some sense they feel empowered by their words/actions. i feel that is a rather sad commentary.

ok, so i realize there is no such thing as an ideal world, but felt the need to vent a little bit. i just ask (ha, dream) for a more tolerant and accepting environment here and in the real world. so, now you have seen what makes me sad and what my fantasy is. you know me a little better.

smile

edit: the grammar/spelling police can have a hay day because i cannot stype for sh*t.

That is sad. Some people suck. But I have noticed that actually, the majority of people in the world are nice. For example, I got beaten up by two people, but at least ten people rushed to help me, all of whom were strangers.

Um, that was meant to be an inspiring story. About how nice people are. I'm not good at this.
