Hey SG's,

So Tuesday we went to London for An Evening With... Kevin Smith at the IndigO2. We got there at 5pm as doors opened at 6:30pm and we wanted to have a few drinks and a chat before we went in. Discovered that he actually goes on at 8pm and finishes at 11pm so we stayed at the slug till 7:15pm before taking our seats. It was a very exciting build up. The place was smaller then I thought it would be and we had a good view. There were clear signs saying 'No Cameras or Video Equpment' but hey how many chances do you get to meet Kevin Smith so I sneeked a picture from my mobile phone...


I know it's bad quality but to be extra sneeky I turned the flash off.

There were lots of great moments. Talking about what it's like to direct Bruce Willis, The story of him sneaking off to use the bathroom during a poker game and then breaking the toliet due to his weight. I was tempted to join the queue to ask questions but with the average answer being about 10mins long I knew I would just be standing in line for the whole night and would never get to ask my question, but for those who did ask questions, Kevin really made it be about them. There was someone who was in 'Mighty Ducks', A large guy called Kevin who Kevin invited on stage dressed him up has him and let him hang on stage for the rest of the show, The man who asked the question of what is the secret to having a long and happy relationship, Kevin asked the guy if he loved her which the man said yes straight away but when asked is she the best fuck in the world there was a long pause making everyone including Kevin make the 'woooooahhh' noise to much embarrisment to the guy as his girlfriend was with him. Thee was the man who proposed to his girlfriend to the cheers of the crowd, and there was a guy who wanted to know more about Jason Mewes fuck tape but had the roles reversed when Kevin asked him if he had ever made a fuck tape and he said yes, Kevin asked if this girl was here with him and he said yes and pointed to a girl in the crowd who he said was filming them right now. Kevin was like 'Hey, did you not see the signs? No filming! Gimmie that camera... Actually if the sex tape on that camera??? Gimmie that camera!!!! Lets have a look' It turned out that Kevin wasn't really that fussed about being filmed. I looked on youtube to see if I could find any videos of the night but could only find the one below...



The evening was going so well but then there was a guy who asked Kevin about his involvment in the Adrienne Shelly Foundation but instead of letting Kevin ask the question the man decided to tell us all about how Adrienne Shelly was Murdered. Kevin tried to bring the attention off this guy and tell the us about the tragic death of Adrienne Shelly but the man corrected Kevin and was like.. 'No No... she was stalked and raped too!!' Everyone in the audience started to feel uncomfortable and didn't know how to react to this guy. There were boos and Laughing. The man just made it worse by saying 'You people this is serious we are talking about the muder and rape of someone I deeply admired' Kevin tried to reel it back by saying 'Sir, these guys did come to see me'. I have to say the guy seemed to be very creepy and sound like a stalker himself. After him the evening felt a bit deflated and as much as Kevin tried to bring back the laughs it just wasn't the same after that.
I was so glad that we were staying at Jo's that night as Kevin didn't finish until midnight. I think that's another thing that put a downer on the evening was not that he went on for an extra hour but seeing half the audience leave before the end of the show.
All in all it was a great night and I'm glad I saw him and would love to see him again the next time he comes to the UK.

As I mentioned we stayed in london that night and when we got home the next day I had a surprise waiting for me...



Yes! Freddy Krueger murdered us...

Ok, no... My Freddy Kruger halloween costume had arrived in the post. I decided against getting a mask due the glasses so I thought I would be Freddy when he had bad eyesight before he got burnt.

I am looking forward to having a good party. Talking of parties it's my birthday in one week! eek! I'm just going to have drinks on the 24th nothing big. Well I have no real idea what will be going on as I think Sally is organising surprises. But he if you happen to be in Chichester next Saturday night you are all more than welcome to join me for some birthday beers
