Just a tip: Find a partner who has no time for you. That way you don't have to feel guilty about having no time for her. The downside is that you have to coordinate your entanglings with a day planner, but being well-organised is a small price to pay.

the ninja is the unseen assassin... so he bids the crews evil little monkey to do his durghty work..
he teaches the monkey with yummy treats.. for every time the monkey is successful in placing a small object in a cup.. he gets a treat..
then one night.. he is hanging outside the captains quarters.. he sees the monkey and calls him over.. gives him a small poisonous pill.. and instructs the monkey to go for the jug of rum....

I learnt from my Mum to interweave replies as well like Lexiphanic said. That was you can reply to and answer everything that was in the original email.
Only problem with this is it is a little impersonal. And I like to paraphrase my 'work' (read: trashy emails) , so I don't do it that often really, even though it is practical.
