The management decided to save money by letting all the casual staff go (right before Xmas... awesome!) and, despite all that I've done for the company (night shifts, swing shifts, OT etc), I'm still a casual, so I got the 'talk' as well.
Bastards! Still I didn't get told until a couple of days before I was due to go back to work in the new year at an old job that I had been let go, it was like fuck thanks a bunch guys I could have managed my money better had I known I wasn't coming back to a job I guess getting that sort of news at any time isn't ever a good time.
This morning I bought two concert tickets for early next year.
One is for me. I have no idea who the other one is for.
I'm taking a leap of faith that, by the night of the show, I'll know who I'm taking.
Hooray for sick-days!
I needed a few hours of solitude to clear my head a bit.
It's amazing how much you can punish yourself when you set your mind to it.
Dude, I've had a few sick days. Today and yesterday I actually was really ill - partially due to an unfortunate bug Jezza gave me, but also partially due to a cleansing process I think my body is undertaking. However in the spirit of the sick day, I'm going to take tomorrow off also and get my shit sorted, now that I'm feeling a bit better. x
I tried to step back into the warm waters of the relationship pool recently.
I met her. I liked her a lot. She seemed to like me. She's great. She has all the qualities I'd look for in a partner. She's funny and sexy and cool. But I was beset, almost from the minute we started it, with doubts and second-guesses.
Ahh man, that's too bad. From my short first impression, you made a good couple. However, I can definitely sympathise with what you're going through. My hat is off to you, sir, for having the courage of your convictions and being true to yourself as well as her. Who knows? Down the track, once you've got your closure, maybe the two of you can try again.
