So I figured it was time to get rid of the previous 'whiny little bitch' post... Time to write about the good shit happening now.
The SGAU Ball is on at the end of the month. WOOT! I'm so happy it's back in Bris-Vegas again, so soon after the last time. Lucky us! Anyone who's thinking of skipping it, always remember 'what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas'! Come let your hair down and get your game on!
There was an SG Brisbane/Gold Coast pub crawl planned for this weekend but unfortunately, despite Aaronsrod's best efforts, it's been cancelled (OK, so this isn't exactly good news). It's really too bad, I was looking forward to getting my drunk on with some of my old-skool SG faves and meeting some new peeps (one, who shall remain nameless, in particular
)
I hit the QUT Spiegeltent last night and saw Vince Jones (jazz singer), Miguel (latin jazz brass band) and Pinkie Beecroft (frontman of Machine Gun Fellatio) with his side project The White Russians. It was so awesome! The venue is great, the entertainment was eclectically stimulating and going home with the girl who invited me along (an ex-colleague) wasn't too freaking bad either!
What else is there...?
Uni is nearly done. Looking forward to taking up full-time at work. I'm really starting to find my feet there and enjoy the job.
Next month I'm off to see Birds of Tokyo go acoustic, a play called Up Jumped The Devil based on the music of Nick Cave, and an awesome one-man version of the original Star Wars trilogy (which I've already seen, but will enjoy much more this time as I have people coming with me! I went alone last time).
I think that's about it. In a good brain-space right now. Loving it.
