I'm in a good place right now.
The nastiness I wrote about in my last post seems to have come to nothing and I didn't offend anyone (or at least not so severely that they let me know about it).
My New Year celebrations were excellent, all in all. They started a little shakily (I was in a bit of a funk during the early evening) but a particular girl helped get me back on track by whispering soothing words into my ear and pressing euphoria into my palm.
She took me to a NYE party held by some friends of hers. We found a a comfortable couch to grin benignly from and we made loving small talk with any and all who passed our way. We snatched private moments between bright-eyed friends and therein found some clarity about ourselves. I realised she knows me better than I thought and she still seems to like me. This makes me feel better about myself (and her, and us) than I have done in a while.
Over the last few days we've broken our record for the most amount of hours we've been able to spend together before I get 'cranky' and start wanting my own space. She's lying in my bed right now, reading romance stories and sipping coffee. I'm happy about this.
I've got some social high points coming up in the weeks ahead. I'll write about them in due course, as events warrant.
