I think there's something promising in the fact that live music acts across the world can still attract crowds that number in the tens of thousands.
When you think about it, the act of going to see a live band, or any form of live music, is an act of emotion, not logic or profit. A live music act is, essentially, a group of people getting together to, through various means, produce a range of sounds and noises that are arranged in an artful manner.
That massive venues can sell out in a matter of minutes is, I think, a testament to the power of the human spirit. It sounds silly, but think about it.
The fact that such a practically meaningless physical act can exert such influence over and inspire such passion in us, both individually and collectively, speaks volumes of the enduring depths of the human emotional condition despite the spiritual challenges we face in today's world.
I think we need to fear the day that music no longer sways us.
