I just watched 'Requiem For A Dream' and I realised I am in love with Jennifer Connelly.
Not as in "I think she's hot and I like her movies"...more like " I would drop my life like a bad habit and raise a large family with her if she so much as winked at me".
conjure:
Yeah, she sure is purdy. Your type, too. Have you started stalking her ex's, could you be her type?
kye:
Yay you!

She is pretty, but I don't want her babies.
I'm saving myself for Christina Ricci....

This will be an intentionally vague post. I don't want to shoot my mouth off too soon, as I usually do.
Suffice it to say that I'm very excited right now. Great things seem to be afoot in my world.
This is making me very, very happy!!!

biggrin biggrin biggrin biggrin biggrin biggrin biggrin biggrin biggrin biggrin biggrin biggrin biggrin biggrin biggrin biggrin biggrin biggrin biggrin biggrin

Oh, and I'm absolutely addicted to this album right now!!!

Yay! The Gods have smiled on me! biggrin
I've had my beloved sweater returned! love
An old school friend dropped into my place just now and handed it back to me. I'd left it in his car after a movie night a few weeks ago! And to think, he hadn't even seen my plaintive post!

Anyway...on to new business!

As some informal research, how many of you...

lexiphanic:
Your silent party: have to admit it ain't a new idea. It's called mobile clubbing.
It is usually the main idea behind flash mobs.
I didn't manage to get there on time but my ex, Shannon, made it to the Liverpool Street Station London flash mob back in mid-2005.
There she is:

At a specific time on the station clock, everyone started dancing to the music on their iPods or portable music players. No one else could hear the music and everyone's music was different. Those who weren't a part of it were very confused. Some people arrived late and joined in. Others only had time to dance for a short while and left early. There was no specific start or end time: just go until you're done.

Also, my iPod's battery is dead, so I'd have to be tethered to a wall socket.

I look around me and almost everybody I know is either studying, has definite plans to study, or wants to study as soon as they can manage it. If you multiply this exponentially across the country's population, that's a lot of mind expansion going on. Then add the fact that (in my opinion) the post-modernist school of thought is dying and that everybody is looking...

A funny entry to atone for the last one:

Hull: Well, it was the last time Marissa was going to do anything for me, so I had to make it count.
Alex: So, you told your ex you still loved her, had sex all night, "borrowed'" $200, and have no intention of seeing her again? Anything else you wanna mention?
Brett: Tell him what you...

LOL - that middle one is great, and the last one is fantastic!

On the topic of enlightenment:
I've found that perfection isn't found where you and I (virgos, writers, philosophers) look for it. The proverbial 'it' compiles our wins in the continual battle against the odds to stay on top. I'd bet, like me, you've seen the peak, and maybe even reached it once or twice, and also, such is life, barely survived on the very bottom.

What would life be, if not for the absolute turmoil of love?

Surrender, or control. If nothing else, at least find solice and bliss in your choice.

I wish I could afford to go to Norway! It's somewhere I really would like to visit.

Guess who sat next to train man today?! Hehe. Yes, that is a 40min conversation. Very pleased with myself. Although, I'm sure he thinks I have 1) too much energy and 2) am a little strange.

If you like dancing, you just might like Combichrist. It's a strech, but it is so dirty and easy to move to. Speaking of dancing, I must ask Re when Kink is on next.

skull It's stirring again; that part of me that misses misery. We've been intimate so many times in my life that I begin to long for her when things are going well. And I'm so close to a perfect life these days, so near to Nirvana, that I can feel its warmth on my face, getting stronger every day. But I can feel the darkest part...

Who are you who will never be me or mine, you who will always remain transcendent to me, even if I touch you, since the words have become flesh in you in one way and in me in another?

Irigaray, L. 2004. The Wedding between the Body and Language. Key Writings. New York. Continuum. p15

cleverthings:
Oh, that's perfect. That's exactly the way it is.

How is everything going anyway? smile

I've had my little mope and am now just terrified that I can't get everything done that must be done this week... the launch is terribly close (this Friday!!) and I still haven't written lyrics or melody to our newest song which I am to sing for the first time that night... plus, I have a huge litigation matter that I need to have prepared for by the end of today, so need to be working away like a crazy person here at work... then there's all the publicity that's still happening for the launch, the organisation of the opening act, the Sydney support act, the venue, the soundcheck...

At least I have the outfit sorted!! tongue I bought it for a crazy amount of money from Dogstar today. It's hella hot, though, and makes me happy. I can't sing badly if I look good, can I? tongue

I learnt two things at Uni today:

One is that I am nerdy enough to skive off having beers with sexy (and euphoric) girls because I have Uni work to do at home... (and yes, use of the term 'skive' in this context is both intentional and ironic)

And two is that the beauty of living by your own [sartorial/musical/political] rules is that you're automatically...
