To some native peoples of Mexico and the American Southwest, the butterfly represents the fertility of the earth. To people throughout the globe, butterflies have come to represent transformation and rebirth. Butterflies have been associated with the immortal soul and the transformation that occurs in physical death. For many, the crysalis stage shows us that change is inevitable and we may experience it more easily when we turn inward to seek guidance. But more than that, butterflies bring joy and beauty, the lightness of air, and divine inspiration. Kristin Madden
