Saw an advance screening of Sin City last night - scored some free tickets from this 'Comics to Animation' thing I'm speaking at. Freaking incredible movie. I'm generally not a big fan of Rodrigez but he did a great job on this one. Sometimes the whole tongue in cheek cheese factor bugged me (it's almost like a cop out to raise the level of cheese when directors are adapting a comic for the screen, like they're afraid of truly being passionate about their art. Notable exceptions are 'The Hulk' and 'Unbreakable', which just went to the opposite extreme and took themselves way too seriously.) But yes. Sin City. Awesome.
