my friends are cooler than your friends.
i had my boys over to my place for some dinner and drinks last night. we had a fanfuckingtastic time as always. my cheeks are still sore from all the hysterical laughter. i tried to convince myself yesterday afternoon that it would just be a mellow and early night. i should have known better - whenever i have that thought, the evening always ends up just the opposite. oh well. i even met some way cool neighbors because we were having such an excellent (and apparently loud) time they came by to join us. i'm sure all my other neighbors hate me though.

and my uber-hip friend, robert, brought me a copy of the franz ferdinand disc. somehow these boys hadn't shown up on my radar yet, so i'm stoked he introduced me to them. i've been listening to it over and over again today. the music kinda reminds me of the strokes meets hot hot heat. with perhaps a bit of interpol and the libertines thrown in for good measure. and the lyrics are intelligent and witty - as one might expcet by the band's name. (for those of you who slept thru history class, franz ferdinand was the archduke whose murder incited world war 1).
so anyway, the preceding rambling is my enthusiastic recommendation of this band.
