So I pay the $99 a year for mobleme as all of you should do. And today it paid off big time. Last night my phone fell out of my pocket and onto the parking lot in the rain. I drove home and a few hours later(yeah im an idiot for not realizing it for that long) realized it was gone. I called it a few times but no one answers. I went back on base to look for it and found nothing. Then I remembered the find my phone feature on mobleme. So I logged on and located my phone. me.com said it was in some house in base housing. Knowing that it was a fellow submariner that found it I stopped worrying(for the most part we all really stick together and watch each others backs. You have to be that way when your trapped underwater with 160dudes for 3months at a time.) and called it once more. Again no answer. So I employed another badass feature of moble me. I sent an alert to the phone which displays a msg and plays a sound for 2mins. In the msg I listed where I worked, my name, and the shop phone number. I when to bait hoping for the best. The next day I walked into the office and there was a note waiting for me with the guy who found it's phone number. I called him and arranged for pickup later that day.
So moble me saved me whatever the cost of a 3gs is without contract. Mobleme is fucking awesome and I will pay for it as long as I own an iphone. It also has a wipe feature that I would have used if the msgs and locate feature did not work. You can remotely wipe your phone via me.com

So and iphone can withstand a couple hours in the rain after being dropped in the parking lot and still be recovered and worked fine. Why again do people even bother using other phones?
