I Wonder

When people make medical product commercials and they list the side effects , do they ever wonder if the product is even worth it ?

example :
watching a commercial for IBS
side effects included ;


    cold sweats
    burning sensation while peeing
    blood in stool
    heart race
    anal leakage
    death



Honestly why would you risk death for something that minor of an issue
,or even anal leakage ......
anyways
what I wonder is, what is the person thinking while reading me a 2 minute list of al these horrible side effects !

here's a different viewpoint for you...if you are someone that has IBS, you may have extreme discomfort from this, to the point you may not want to wander off too far from home or away from where you'd have access to a bathroom because you may need to go to the bathroom very frequently. As with any illness, there are varying degrees of symptoms, but if you are someone who is on the extreme end of things and have lots of discomfort, then to that person, taking a medication which may cause a/b/or c side effect isn't likely to deter you from taking it in hopes it'll do more good than harm. Make sense?

There are side effects to any medication and drug companies have to list these. There's no guarantee who will experience what side effects or any at all because everyone is made up ever so slightly different.
So just because the list of side effects to a particular medication may be lengthy, it doesn't mean one will have any side effects at all. It just means that they are possible side effects.
Even the most common medications have side effects (eg tylenol, gravol, benadryl).
