well that didn't last long. i'm in nowhere near the shape i used to be in, and had way too much crap with me that i realized i wasn't going to use, even in 2 weeks. was an awesome experience, but between the weight and the 2 days straight of abnormal heat, i got drained to the point where my body was no longer willing to accept food... a bad point to be at when you're out in the middle of nowhere alone... i know my body well enough to know that if i'd have tried to keep going, i'd have ended up dead with numerous crying friends and family members. so, i turned on my trusty cell phone and called a friend. now, after quite a nap and some real food, i'm headin to Reading in the jeep, so that should speed things up a bit.
lessons learned:
-i'm a little weakling
-i packed way too much shit
-water is my friend (okay, so that part i knew)
-the topographic maps i brought don't list all the hills they're supposed to
that's all...
