Baha! I am so unhip. (Shit... do people even use that term anymore? If not, then I guess that just adds to it, eh?)

My sister was trying to explain 'scenester' fashion (and how she hates it to pieces) to me, but I just gave her a glazed look. Even now, I'm still confused about this emo/hipster/metro-whachamacallit stuff. Hah!

Anyway, she went on this tirade about silly kids she sees at school and their fashion sense (or lack thereof). Like beads (are we talking Mardi Gras type beads?), accessories fashioned from cutlery, and such. Then she started talking about the reverse-mulleted, tight-pants wearing guys and how they wear navy-blue pea coats. I stopped her right there. I says, "What the fuck? I don't recall seeing any of these oddball-types. Anyway, that sounds fucked up. And hey - I actually own a pea coat from way back". (part of my Captain Highliner* get-up)

Hehe. Makes me feel I should be 43 as opposed to 23. I know shit-all about current popular culture. I can't remember the most recent movie I've watched. I'm almost thinking Return of the King. I guess I'm too hardcore for this shit**.

* Funny anecdote: Until I had informed her, my aunt had always though that those Jesus fish things you see on people's vehicles was the Highliner logo. Though they do have a resemblance.
