my favorite is more like "eclectic" ... I like mixing both to come up with something comfy but nice.

"Modern" is too sterile, and classical has too many rules .. both are cool to look at but I woudln't want to live in either one.... tho I think my reluctance to live with strict classical styles are due to living in practically a museum growing up (mom's an antique dealer) and how many actual museums I was dragged around as a kid wink -I grew up not far from Jefferson's Monticello so those places were easy for day trips where I'd rather be at the pool or doing other kid-stuff

Which do you prefer?

(if I were more exact about periods my favorite would have to be Arts and Crafts style)

That woudl suck to put that much time and effort into a place and not be able to keep it... but at least it got preserved. I'm fixing uop my house right now.. but it'snothing special. .. a WWII house put up in a subsdivision for arsenal workers. It needs help to be more comfortable tho... it has lots of tiny rooms and a leaky roof and basement .. and no insulation in the upstairs.

(oohh.. another novel wink )

The BBQ was a great success with my new doctor friend. It was her first. She also liked the Chinese style marianated chicken and scallop kebabs and also ate two thirds of the fried rice with veg that I made; which, as she's Chinese, I took as a real compliment. The weather was great and we even had a bunch of little wild rabbits hopping...

This really sucks. My BBQ weekend date has had to pull out for family reasons..now
I don't know what to do with myself. And the weather's goi ng to be great tomorrow.

It's a pity all you guys live so far away, otherwise I'd suggest a beach party.

One of the problems of a one on one close relationship for any length of time is...

Woke up really late and starving. I think it's a full English breakfast and to hell with the cals.

Looking forward to a beach BBQ date with my new Chinese girl this weekend if the weather holds. I'm also going to take some pics, which I hope she'll agree I can share.

Any suggestions for what I cook, apart from the usual?

jamielee:
Maybe Hamburgers with all the noises? eeek

48 hours to go before I start my new job. Wow!

Must clear my head and focus on the serious shit. Which is difficult when Anabel
starts a discussion about Oral Sex and Apena and Benni do what they're doing etc.

I'm aware that there's a lot of this sort of stuff around in internal affairs and politics,
but I'm not supposed to write about...

Why is it that some people turn out to be such a great disappointment? And I would include myself.

When you think how long we've been around { the species I mean) you'd have thought we'd have learnt by now how to communicate with each other without causing misunderstandings or offence.
Clearly from my experiences this week that's not the case.

SG started out to...

Some time ago I requested the friendship of two English members of SG. I thought it would be nice to get to know other countryfolk who seemed to enjoy SG.

They ignored my request. So I sent a short
reminder.

You would not believe the vitriolic answers which came back. And just when I was thinking how nice everyone is on SG.

Got to prepare for my new job. I start in three days.

I am getting a real buzz from this challenge. Firing up the grey matter is almost as good as sex.

I get so excited about big changes in my life like a new job. It is so much fun to face the challenge so i agree. I also think that a really stimulating conversation is better than sex....so i am pretty easy to please though. *smile*
scorpio_:
Hehe....nice journal...wink

Well, I can find a new job, but not yet. I have to stick it out for atleast another two years so that I can get my 401k out of the company. I have to be 5 years vested in order to take my company match with me if I leave, and I'm not leaving without it. I've busted my ass for way too long to just pack up and go. I figure it's worth the wait...then I'm going to find a real job and say screw 'em. biggrin

So, technically, the answer to your question is no...can't find a new job.
