OK...a little about my trip to Moscow.
(I'll be posting some pics later).
First night there spent with an old friend ( sadly male) in a great Georgian restaurant. I won't bore you with the entire menu , but the food was incredible and lots of it. I was then taken on a quick night tour of the city to see how much it's changed since I was last there. I must buy shares in neon lighting and other illuminated ads. The place now rivals Las Vegas for glitz.
New hotels, futuristic office blocks and casinos are shooting up almost daily....and there are three new bridges across the Moscow River since I was there last year. I had a batch of meetings from early next morning so it was some time before I got my fun boots on and had a chance to check out the local talent. In fact it was night time again. An old girlfriend met me down town and dragged me to a couple of noisy but rocking night spots. The Moscow burlesque did wonders for my blood pressure and certain sensative regions of my antanomy. The girls are so hot. Supper was in a Ukraine eating house which has a real farmyard behind glass as the backdrop to meals. OH and I fell in love with the waitress, but my old girlfriend had other ideas
and it was her who joined me for breakfast.
More work all next day before playtime at around 10pm. This time my playmate was a girl I've only known for a few months. She's a computer person of some sort but should really be strutting the catwalks around the globe. The only down side is her consumption of vodka ....all laughter, highjinks and gurgling but a floppy rag doll by bedtime. But I guess I needed the sleep anyway.
Next day was all mine until midday..so I took a walk in the city centre and checked out the new shopping malls. The rusty old Moscow I loved so much is now hidden behind numerous western brand names and giant ad boards. Thankfully the Kremlin and its precincts remain relatively unscarred, although
there's an artificial stream within the shoawdows of the giant walls lined with fast food restaurants and bars. And the city's biggest shopping mall is underground just by Red Square. That's where I took lunch, giving me a c hance to sit and watch the girls go by. In the belly of the Mall there a ring of classy fast food outlets with an amazing choice of ethnic c uisine, including Russia's own version of MacDonalds. I shared a table with three youg Moscow shop girls who gave me the low down on the city's night life. And of course they all wanted to marry me on come back to England. lol. (You think I'm joking?) They claimed that there's a shortage of sober young lads (or even oldies like me) in Russia with honest intensions. I kept my intensions to myself.
Then work got in the way again. More tomorrow.
