I have just been given a good talking to by a very dear girl friend who's known me for a very long time. I made the mistake of complaining that I have no one special in my life at the moment and feared I would never find the right person with whom to share my life.
All expletives deleted, my ears are still reverberating from her response.
Apparently she believes I'm the last person on earth with a chance of finding a Miss Right. Well that's not exactly what she said.
In fact it was quite the reverse, and, although I didn't take notes, it went something like this:
"Roddy my love, to m y knowledge you've found Miss Right at least a dozen times in some many years. Almost every girl you've ever introduced me to has been Miss Right. Don't forget you even tried to put me in that category when we first met."
I had better keep most of the rest of what she said to myself. But she did end up by saying I shouldn't worry about the way I am, "That's what makes you so loveable Roddy, you're such a perpetual optimist."
