my favorite is more like "eclectic" ... I like mixing both to come up with something comfy but nice.
"Modern" is too sterile, and classical has too many rules .. both are cool to look at but I woudln't want to live in either one.... tho I think my reluctance to live with strict classical styles are due to living in practically a museum growing up (mom's an antique dealer) and how many actual museums I was dragged around as a kid -I grew up not far from Jefferson's Monticello so those places were easy for day trips where I'd rather be at the pool or doing other kid-stuff

(if I were more exact about periods my favorite would have to be Arts and Crafts style)
That woudl suck to put that much time and effort into a place and not be able to keep it... but at least it got preserved. I'm fixing uop my house right now.. but it'snothing special. .. a WWII house put up in a subsdivision for arsenal workers. It needs help to be more comfortable tho... it has lots of tiny rooms and a leaky roof and basement .. and no insulation in the upstairs.

actually, my livingroom is a bright electric green (see pics of me wiht orange top) whcih apparently means im insane going by the expressions of ppl entering the room.
