I dunno if it's a good thing or not but the house we're in has high-speed internet connectivity.

Yeah, I know, I'm at the F'n beach, WHY would I want to be inside playing on the computer?
Well, for one, cuz my son chafed his legs and he doesn't want to go play in the ocean.
For another - I've read 2 of the 5 books I brought with me and I've got a good start on the 3rd.
OTOH it's BEAUTIFUL here. not to hot, water's warm, altho a bit seaweedy, and there's a turtle nest down the beach a bit from us so we can go look at that if we want.
And I have been in the water, altho it's a total drag - my eyes have gotten so much worse since I was in my 20s I can't even see the f'n waves until they're whappin' me in the face.
Of course, if I'm playing with my son I've got my glasses on so I can see him and/or keep him from drowning if it comes to that as there's no life guards here. Plus I'm wearing a goofy hat to keep the sun out of my eyes. Actually, it's not a goofy hat, it's a Topsail Island hat, but it does look pretty stupid, even if it's effective at what I bought it for.
I'll try to post some pictures in the next few days - there's even some of me in the water, altho none of me imitating a beached whale (IE, sans my shirt
) - I think my mom was afraid to take a picture of me shirtless as it might cause the camera to explode.

Have a great time! Wow, I am so jealous right now, I live about twenty minutes from a great lake and haven't been to the beach once this year. *sob*
