Just got home from seeing Liz Phair. What an awesome show. She is seriously awesome. I've seen her 2 times before and loved both shows and was intensely bummed when I was not only working but that it sold out when she did her acoustic tour this summer. Tonight she walked out onto stage and said she wasn't sure what she should play first. This was greeted with an onslaught on people screaming out song names. And she listened to the audience. The whole night she kinda seemed to veer off her setlist and go more for what the crowd wanted. I was expecting a show of mostly stuff off her new album, which I just got last week and aren't too familiar (or crazy about) with. But she only did 2 new songs. At one point she was overwhelmed with a chant of "Fuck and Run" which she decided to oblige saying "alright you want your encore now I'll do it". And she did. The crowd sang so loud it totally drowned her out. She did a ton of older stuff. When she walked out I remembered something I had forgotten. Liz is one of the most beautiful people alive. She's like a supernova. Also she does something I don't think I've ever seen another performer do: she looks her audience in the eye. Individually at different points she'll look right at you. Its the sexiest and most disarming thing on earth.
One of the funnier points in a Liz Phair show is when she plays "H.W.C.", aka Hot White Cum. Its funny cause the rest of the show everyone is singing along and suddenly there's a lot of quiet people. It shows who's the least self-concious. Of course I sing along cause its a catchy fucking song. Anyway everyone should go see Liz Phair. Cause she rocks.

I was kind of disappointed because she didn't play H.W.C. tonight, but her set was amazing. She was brilliant to watch. I'm a little upset because I had tickets for both nights and only went tonight because I also had tickets to the Rangers Panthers game and thought I had sold my ticket for last night. Found out that the girl who was buying my ticket didn't go and the game got out early enough that I could have seen most of her set.
