Temporarily motivated to be permanently lazy. There's so much to do right today before I have a chance to relax. It's lunch break right now, so I have a chance to do something fun. I woke up this morning and cleaned up what was left of my garden. Now I have a half a paint bucket full of unripe, semi ripe and over ripe cherry, pear and regular size tomatoes and also a few habeneros. I still need to clean my apartment and do mass laundry.
Last weekend was hectic as hell. From last Thursday until the following Wednesday, I was running around like a madman. I had a visit from a very old friend. She came from Virginia to check out Denver and asses it's livability. We had a blast, and experienced a little of the weirdness that is to be expected from an ex who you haven't seen for years.
Here she is at the Denver Performing Arts Complex.

Now you can see how my heard might get a bit twisted over this girl. Especially after seeing how well she got along with my pup.

It was definitely one for the archives.

We went to a wolf rescue place, about an hour west of Colorado Springs. We get the VIP tour which allowed us to go in the pens with the wolves.
Wakanda is a 5 year old timber wolf. He was super friendly.

Wakanda was the only wolf who was brave enough to approach humans. He had the best personality! He rolled over so I could rub his belly, and played around in the snow like a little pup (a little pup with like a 7" footprint). He licked my face and nearly ate my sun glasses.

Nkita was really standoffish. The tour guide gave us little scraps of meat to give to the wolves. Nikita caught them in mid air, with a chomp. I am serious when I say chomp too. The snap of his jaw echoed, and sounded like it would shatter your arm.

Nikita's roommate, Princess (right behind me), was a hybrid who is the most photographed wolf in the place. Princess is on a famous 9/11 poster.

On Sunday I had my weekly NFL party. Later Amy and I went to see the Eagles of Death Metal. I have been trying to see these guys for a good number of years, this was my first time. It was fucking fantastic. I have never been to a better rock show in my life.

I left the Gothic theatre drunk on Rock and Roll. My voice is still not all back. I did a little bit of vocal damage, I think.
The rest of the visit was pretty low key...and a tad awkward. I took Amy to the airport on Tuesday morning. Tuesday night was pretty exiting. A friend of mine had a Halloween party at her house around the corner from my apartment. There were DJs, dancing and over 100 people. It reminded me of the house parties I would through in Boston. I got way, way too drunk and got into a fist fight with one of my friends. We left, and were like "what the fuck was that all about?" and "I don't know homie, but I think you broke my nose."
It took most of the week to grovel back into the good graces of the party's hostess. The rest of the week was dedicated to relaxing. Unfortunately it was at the expense of the cleanliness of my apartment. So today, that is what I'm trying to do.
I finally feel back to normal after one incredibly hectic seven days.
*big sigh*

Also, I like this video alright:

but that mustache sure is suspect.
Watching these Colts offensive linemen yank defensive ends around by their jerseys and pads makes me wonder- isn't there an offensive holding penalty in the NFL? Or is it not allowed to stand in the way of darling Peyton's statistics?
