i have just watched 'the 50 greatest manchester united goals' on tv with kev. he remembered most of them and i must say, they were fantastic. i'll really miss the support that sports (well, football) get here after i leave. i'm really enjoying it. hell, i may even try and start up the northeast u.s. branch of fc united supporters. i envy those that were around when they (man utd) had their glory years. it looked amazing. the closest i ever got to that was when the phillies were in the 1993 world series.
i've realised that since i've been here, i've had some great experiences. i've gotten to understand both football/soccer and cricket, i've seen The Ashes played and won by England (including getting to see Flintoff, Pietersen, Warne, and McGrath play), i've taken part in the creation of a brand new local football club that started for moral and grassroots reasons that i think is so commendable (founder member of fc united), i've played in a couple of bands and played live in manchester, i've gotten my work up in a local public venue, i've made some new friends that share things with me that i have never been able to share or really relate to with anyone else (adoption), i've seen some great gigs that i'd never see in philly (or america), i've been all over the u.k. making deliveries with kevin, i've discovered the wonder of british bacon, and i've pretty much had some of the greatest times of my life here just hanging around and living. hell, i might even get a Master's degree out of it (ahem, i will).
it's been an excellent year or so, and i'm looking forward to the next few months. there is no way i'll not come back and visit. there is still so much i want to do around here and time i still want to spend with people. damn this ocean that separates us all.

Also, speaking of how awesome the Isles are. I am going to be in London for a bit, from the 17th through the 20th. I am not sure how much of a trek that is for you. But if by chance you also happen to be in town, we should hang out.
